Abstract

Burnout is a significant issue in laboratory settings, affecting job satisfaction, work performance, and overall well-being. Laboratory technicians, who play a critical role in healthcare and research environments, are particularly vulnerable to burnout due to high workloads, repetitive tasks, and emotional strain. This review explores the key stressors contributing to burnout among laboratory technicians, the relationship between burnout and job satisfaction, and effective coping strategies. High workloads, monotonous tasks, lack of autonomy, poor working conditions, and emotional strain were identified as primary stressors. The review also highlights that burnout is inversely related to job satisfaction, with burnout leading to reduced motivation, increased absenteeism, and higher turnover rates. Coping strategies include time management, mindfulness practices, and organizational interventions such as workload management, supportive leadership, and improved work-life balance initiatives. The findings emphasize the need for both individual and organizational efforts to reduce burnout and improve job satisfaction.
